QUOTES VERSUS AFFIRMATIONS!
All the world loves quotes. Why is that? Because it immediately hits home some idea or situation we can associate with through personal experience. It puts into a few words what might otherwise take many to express. And in many instances to stress a point. Quotes can be entertaining, ascerbic, thought provoking or satyrical, on any subject or person. It seems to me most liked quotes are about self esteem, that is overcoming obstacles, and not so strangely, political. Although it may be because these are the fields of my interest.
Quotes are more thought provoking than action provoking. A fool and his/her money are soon parted. I'd rather think.. I fully think out and plan my actions for a successful conclusion. And that is the main difference. If you like a partcular quote, reword and personalize it for daily repetition.
On the internet there's no limit to, or lack of abundance of quotes. Many sites list them by subject and or author. Especially interesting to me, is how some people, through one venue ot another, such as twitter or blogs, etc.,(These formats being built on the oft quoted ..Birds of A feather- flock together)..endlessly repeat quotes, with credits, and thus bring some imagined complementary credit to themselves, either for delivering it, or for realizing it's import, or both. But people do not live by the clever quotes they so dilligently unearth. Their satisfaction is in the broadcasting of, rather than heeding of the message.
Verbal Forwards.
I love quotes, as I said. But it has made me realize that quotes do nothing, or very little for the quoter, except perhaps to garner some measure of fame or attention through repeating them.
Quotes do not go far enough to energize, excite and ignite ones ambitions. For example.. one of the best known quotes world wide is.. A MOTHER'S WORK IS NEVER DONE!
True enough. But how does this help anyone aside to give some mild relief to a mother's schedule. If I affirm instead:
THE MERE FACT I CAN CHANGE MY MIND IS ABSOLUTE PROOF
I CAN CHOOSE AND ACHIEVE WHATEVER I DESIRE!
You can immediately appreciate the powerful impact of this enlightenment of self, over a resigned acknowledgement of a situation, but otherwise useless quote. The idea I'm getting at is to use your self talk time to maximize your focus.
Many people do not understand the difference between a quote and an affirmation. And if the difference is appreciated, most do not know how to create a meaningful personal affirm, with empowering verbal and visual essence.
A quote is not personal, although we can readily agree and associate with it. A quote may be meaningful, but is too ubiquitous to be taken as meant only for you. And is usually about someone or something over which we have little or no control. And thus in these two arenas quotes lose so much of their otherwise powerful implications. There's little power in quotes to inspire, for any more than a short time. I don't know anybody who lives by quotes. Quoting quotes is more a teaching exercize, than a learning one and may well be the lazy persons afffirmations. There are many inspirational speakers like Jim Rohn and Zig Ziglar, who are experts at coining quotes. Yet still, these quips lack the power of a personal promise (affirmation) to achieve a definite goal, that can be personalized into great affirmations.
For me, a good affirmation is a promise to myself to act and think in a manner which identifies that which I have already achieved. I create a more powerful mantra, such as; my succesful personna combined with my actions result in my always feeling good. With daily repetition, I am mentally reinforcing my ideated successful persona, with a consciousness to act accordingly, resulting in my always feeling good. This affirmation can be used for any desired result.
That is why in my writings, I have created quotes and then converted them to personal power affirmations. Affirmations to be read and written daily so they are as familiar as saying good morning. So firmly planted in your subconscious that they are you. They are the code that you live by. With all that being said, I listed my affirmations, (Original affirmations and my Affirmations calendar, both within this site, free) for you, and which have been accessed by over 19000 viewers, in 93 publications, Change them as you wish to fit your particular lifestyle.
But First
I want to give credit for my affirmation creating abilities, such as they are, to Mr Jerry Gillies, whose many books, are all titled
Money Love
Jerry taught me how to create, follow and live my positive affirmations. For me, he is the master of affirmations. I love this one...
People are standing in line to give me money!

Or people are standing in line to give me love, etc. Now this is quite apart from the type of affirmations I write about above; in that it sets no specific accomplished goals. Yet is so powerfully simple a statement, you can't help repeat and think of it. Is it a quote, yes, is it an affirmation, yes. Without a doubt the shortest and most effective positive statement I've encountered in 30 years. Thanks Jerrry. Recite and paste it on your refrigerator along with your favorite other affirmations and if you get the opportunity, Google Jerry Gillies - Money Love Manifesto.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Is one of the most misleading quotes of all time.
It is the use of knowledge that is power. Because using knowledge requires action.
Knowledge ='s opportunity and options but requires action for access. progress and success
Unused knowledge is like putting your money under the mattress.
It earns no interest, depreciates in value, makes no turnover money, gets stale...
I realize the power of my knowledge is my use.
Because using my knowledge requires action.
Action requires my plan.
My plan has a goal.
This is my formula that assures my success.
